Matrons instructed to work on wards daily to speed up discharges
Matrons at an acute NHS trust have been told to spend time every morning on wards making the patient discharge process more efficient. They aim to reduce waits in the emergency department by cutting delays to patients being discharged once they are assessed as fit to return home.
